Dan is married to his wife Heidi and they have a son, Brodyn. Heidi works with Dan as an Associate Financial Representative. Dan and his family reside in Bath, Ohio and are heavily involved in the community. Most notably they work with the USO, and the Susan G. Komen foundation. Dan is the Committee Chairman for the Grape Escape which is a popular wine and food tasting event that benefits the McDowell Cancer Center of Akron General. In early 2011 Dan and Heidi started Brodyn's Friends in hopes of finding a cure for Nonketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH) and to provide comfort and resources to families with children suffering from the disease. In early 2009 when their son Brodyn was 10 months old he was diagnosed with NKH. The vision of Brodyn's Friends is that one day children with NKH are able to live normal healthy lives due to treatments discovered from the research that is funded from Brodyn's Friends and through the tireless efforts of many dedicated people, a cure is found by 2016.
